Home Educator Days: Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th September 2024

This September, join us for one of our special Home Educator days!

Our theme is Let’s Get Digital! and we’re excited to be working with the Raspberry Pi Foundation

You can book online for the following activity…

Digital Making with the Raspberry Pi Foundation
Times: 10:15am-11:15am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 1pm-2pm & 2:15pm-3:15pm
Age range: 5yrs+

Come along to a taster session to get hands-on with coding, with interactive activities run by computing education charity, The Raspberry Pi Foundation. You can get started with coding using Scratch and Micro:bit, explore AI and build your own AI classifier, and even send your code to space! Activities are available for all levels and there will be plenty of information and resources to help you keep coding at home.

Places are limited for these sessions and are likely to fill up quickly so book early!

As well as drop-in to the following activities on the day…

Digi-Play
Time: 10am-3:30pm
Have a go at Stop Motion Animation to make your own short film and experiment with Augmented Reality by bringing your colouring pictures to life!

Pixel Play
Time: 10am-4pm
Step into Eureka!’s latest digital exhibition in our upstairs Spark Gallery: Pixel Play – A digital sandbox where pixels become dancing projections, playful creatures and dot-based creations! Pixel Play features two brand new interactive digital installations, Circle Triangle Square (CTS) and Gecko Jam.

In addition to the bookable activities and drop-in sessions, you will have our 4 large galleries to explore (plus 2 galleries and Creativity Space just for the under 5’s) with tons of interactive exhibits.

• 10% discount in the Gift Shop (only available to Home Educator Day families)
• 10% discount off the Eureka! Annual Pass (must be purchased before 3pm on the day)

Terms & Conditions:

• To book on to the Home Educator Day you must have at least one paying child aged 5 years or over.
• Payment must be made at the time of booking.
• Existing Eureka! Annual Pass holders receive 10% off their booking for a Home Educator day. To receive this discount you must book in advance as it cannot be redeemed on the day.
• If you cancel within 1 week of the Home Educator day, Eureka! will charge 50% of the total cost of your visit.
• No refunds will be given if you cancel on the day of the event or simply don’t show up.
• Cancellations must be sent in writing.
