Why not explore a bit while you’re here?
Halifax is easy to get around with places to eat and lots to see and do for the whole family. And Halifax is a town on the up, following the £19 million renovation of The Piece Hall – a unique, Grade I listed Georgian building with a huge open-air square enclosed by a mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants – which is right next door to Eureka!
To find out more about The Piece Hall and the family-friendly events that they host throughout the year, check out The Piece Hall website for up-to-date info.
There’s lots happening in Halifax, with Square Chapel Arts Centre, entertainment for everyone at the Victoria Theatre, as well as country parks, museums, cinema, shopping, cycling and a whole host of interesting history galore. Don’t miss the picturesque Shibden Hall and Estate – the home of the BBC’s blockbuster drama series Gentleman Jack.
We’re just down the road from the amazing Dean Clough buildings which houses a range of businesses, bars, restaurants and more, including galleries and the innovative Northern Broadsides Theatre and IOU Theatre.
If you want to go a bit further we’d recommend exploring some of the other quirky and fun towns in the area: Hebden Bridge, Brighouse, Todmorden and Sowerby Bridge are just a short train ride away and have canal boats, indoor climbing, markets, cinemas, and even a lucky dog. The famous summer Hebden Bridge Arts Festival is a must-see.
Plus there are plenty of events and festivals happening year-round so to check out more about the area, look for accommodation, and find out what else is going on while you’re here there is LOADS of info on the Visit Calderdale website.
