A great opportunity for Home Educator families to visit the museum at a quieter time (we don’t take any school bookings on this day) and take part in some of our school programmes developed for pupils in Years 1 through to Year 6 (i.e. 5-11yrs).

Activities Available
We’re exploring the human body this May with the following science show and special guest workshop (available to add-on at the time of booking):
From the Chew to the Poo
Times: 35min sessions at 11am, 11:45am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 2:45pm, 3:30pm
Age range: 5yrs and over
Follow the amazing journey of a banana sandwich from the first moment it is chewed to the last moment it is pooed! Learn about the digestive system and the importance of having a healthy, well-balanced diet. Children will find out how our body absorbs the vitamins and minerals it needs and more amusingly how it gets rid of what we don’t need.
Same Difference Arts: Brain Maps (Limited Availability)
Times: 45min sessions at 11:30am. 12:45pm, 2pm, 3:15pm
Age range: 5yrs and over
Using pre-printed maps of the brain, we will colour in and then assemble brain hats children can wear. During the colouring and building phase, the children will learn about the different parts of the brain, they can then take away and wear their brain hat!
And finally, we will have the following drop-in sessions:
All About Me
Times: Various pop-ups throughout the day
Age range: All ages
Explore our largest gallery and find out more about our amazing bodies. Join our Enablers too for some pop-up, hands-on, body themed activities.

Terms & Conditions:
- To book on to the Home Educator event you must have at least one paying child aged 5 years or over.
- Payment must be made at the time of booking.
- If you cancel within 1 week of the Home Educator event, Eureka! will charge 50% of the total cost of your visit.
- No refunds will be given if you cancel on the day of the event or simply don’t show up.
- Cancellations must be sent in writing.
