Additional activities designed specifically for families with early years children (i.e. your Little Explorers!)

This month’s theme is: Spring and Nature 🍃

Learning about spring and nature in the early years is important because it helps young children develop curiosity about the world around them. During spring, children can observe changes such as flowers growing, trees getting new leaves, and baby animals.

These experiences encourage children to explore, ask questions, and use their senses to understand nature. Learning about nature also supports language development – as children learn new words related to plants, animals, weather and the seasons.

During these sessions, children can:

  • Play the spring flowers counting game 🌼
  • Put the right number of bees in the hives 🐝
  • Dress up as a spring animal and move like them 🐑
  • Make a flower display using an upside-down colander 🌷
  • Create their own flower using watercolour pens 💧
  • Complete spring/nature colouring sheets 🎨

Whatever age or stage your early learners are at, there will be lots of engaging activities for them to be curious, to be playful and to have fun!
