Get a basic introduction to British Sign Language by learning how to finger-spell the alphabet, plus a few other handy signs.

Watch this short video to learn to finger-spell the alphabet and how to say your name. You can even find out how to say a special thank-you to the NHS! We think British Sign Language (BSL) is the perfect skill to try during lockdown – the only thing you need is your hands!

As well as working at Eureka! as a Visitor Services Assistant Manager, Leanne is currently studying for her level 3 in BSL. She also trains staff to learn some basic signs to help make the museum inclusive.

Sign Language is a visual means of communicating using gestures, facial expressions, and body language. It’s used mainly by people who are Deaf or have hearing impairments.
