Many of you will have seen the Government’s latest Roadmap for Lifting Lockdown, setting out dates for when groups can gather, different venues are able to open etc.
In broad terms, the lifting of restrictions will take place in three stages:
- Stage 1: March 2021
Schools and colleges etc. will be able to reopen. - Stage 2: No earlier than 12 April
All shops, gyms, hairdressers, beauty salons and other “close contact services” etc to reopen. Zoos, theme parks and drive-in cinemas can reopen, and children will be allowed to attend indoor play activities.
Unfortunately, Eureka! is NOT included in the list of venues that can open at this time. - Stage 3: No earlier than 17 May
Pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues can seat customers indoors. Indoor entertainment such as museums, theatres, cinemas and children’s play areas can open – Eureka! falls into this category!
So what about Eureka!’s Roadmap?
OK – the gig’s up.
We’re not actually able to confirm a precise reopening date until the stage 3 dates are confirmed, but… we are committed to getting our doors open at the earliest and safest opportunity.
As we’ve all learned, the pandemic can be unpredictable and dates are changeable. We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve got a fixed date – promise – and will release available tickets via our website. As previously, our visitor numbers will be limited so you’ll need to book in advance.
For annual pass holders, we’ll confirm any arrangements to extend passes once we’ve set a reopening date and will email you with details.
Will schools be able to visit?
Initially, we’re not currently planning to offer school visits once we reopen, but are intending to do so from September 2021 (assuming we’re able to!). We will be reviewing this regularly though.
So in the meantime, we hope you and yours are safe and well, and we’re really – like reeeeeally – looking forward to seeing you soon!
