This month’s theme is: Fairytales 💫
The objective of this Early Years theme is to help children develop a range of foundational skills across key learning areas. Through listening to and retelling familiar stories, they enhance their language and communication abilities and build vocabulary.
Fairytales also support social and emotional development by encouraging empathy, turn-taking, and discussion of moral lessons such as kindness and bravery. Children engage their imaginations through role-play, storytelling, and creative activities, which foster expressive arts and fine motor skills.
During these sessions, children can:
- Craft their own magical wand out of card and straws 🪄
- Roll the dice and match the numbers in the 3 Little Pigs game 🐷
- Use puppets to create their own stories and performances 🎭
- Design their own shields using different laminated shapes 🛡️
- Play with the characters in our small fairytale world 🧚
And if you’re visiting us in October half term…
- Make spells and potions using a cauldron and ingredients 🧙♀️
Whatever age or stage your early learners are at, there will be lots of engaging activities for them to be curious, to be playful and to have fun!
