A great opportunity for Home Educator families to visit the museum at a quieter time (we don’t take any school bookings on this day) and take part in some of our school programmes developed for pupils in Years 1 through to Year 6 (i.e. 5-11yrs).

Activities Available
Our Home Educator theme this September is Let’s Get Digital! with the following bookable activity provided by The Raspberry Pi Foundation:
Digital Making
Times: 1hr workshops at 10:15am, 11:30am, 1pm & 2:15pm
Age range: 5yrs and over
Come along to a taster session to get hands-on with coding, with interactive activities run by computing education charity, The Raspberry Pi Foundation. You can get started with coding using Scratch and Micro:bit, explore AI and build your own AI classifier, and even send your code to space! Activities are available for all levels and there will be plenty of information and resources to help you keep coding at home.
Places are limited for these sessions and are likely to full up quickly, so book early!

Digi-Play
Times: 10am-3:30pm
Have a go at Stop Motion Animation to make your own short film and experiment with Augmented Reality (AR) by bringing your colouring pictures to life!
Pixel Play
Time: 10am-4pm
Step into Eureka!’s latest digital exhibition in our upstairs Spark Gallery: Pixel Play – A digital sandbox where pixels become dancing projections, playful creatures and dot-based creations! Pixel Play features two brand new interactive digital installations, Circle Triangle Square (CTS) and Gecko Jam.
In addition to the bookable activities and drop-in sessions, you will have our 4 large galleries to explore (plus 2 galleries and Creativity Space just for the under 5’s) with tons of interactive exhibits.

- 10% discount off the Eureka! Annual Pass (this must be purchased before 3pm on the day)
Terms & Conditions:
- To book on to the Home Educator event you must have at least one paying child aged 5 years or over.
- Payment must be made at the time of booking.
- If you cancel within 1 week of the Home Educator event, Eureka! will charge 50% of the total cost of your visit.
- No refunds will be given if you cancel on the day of the event or simply don’t show up.
- Cancellations must be sent in writing.
